The Clarks are Hot Rodders!
The Clarks are not just great musicians, songwriters, and performers. They are hot rodders too.
These guys helped me to build a huge audience, and they put me on the map when it came to my radio show. I owe them so much. Their music continues to inspire. And here they go again helping me out by spreading the word about talkhotrods.com. Thanks, guys!
Let’s get back to The Clarks being hot rodders.
Scott sings like a wailing big block but can also back off and just cruise like a vintage V-12 or a Harley with a big cam. Scott writes a song like it’s a beautifully crafted piece of art. That’s how hot rods are built too.
Rob plays guitar like a ’32 Ford with 4 turbos. When Rob opens it up, his amp can hardly take it. I am sure he has hot rodded his amps and guitars. Great guitarists understand machines. Hot rodders know how far they can push.
Greg doesn’t just play bass, he plays the bottom end that makes us all fall in love with the power of a machine and rock and roll. We feel it in our hearts. Greg will always be a hero of mine.
And then there’s Dave on drums. That’s Dave the ignition system. Dave is the time machine. Dave is the wiring harness that ties it all together. Dave builds bikes, cars and trains. I want to work at Dave’s new store.
What I love the most about The Clarks is they refuse to grow up. I know I never have either. They are just kids having fun. Music is fun, cars are fun, family and friends are fun.
Hey, where do I sign up?
Please check out Dave’s new train store, The Mercer Junction, (Mercerjunction.com) and if you need a custom chopper (we all need at least one!) go to Dave’s King Mouse site for more info.
Special thanks to JW for being a good friend and for being as crazy about cars as I am.
Please go to clarksonline.com for more info including show schedules and to get their music.
Thanks Doc, I feel better already. Be careful in the hot rod!

Hersch,
Thanks for the kind words!
JW and I will be your beat reporters for next year’s Detroit Auto Show. How’s that sound? We make an annual trek there every year and JW takes some great pictures.
Ya know, we should try to get a bus trip together. It really is quite a different event than the Pgh Auto Show. It’s premier!!!
Thanks Greg. I will post JW’s photos. Save me a spot on the bus!
